The Last Command

but “WAIT” for us at the Bridge.

 We Love You Both Immensely………..

Mom and Dad

 How beautiful and brilliant

The boys were from the start

Bonding happened quickly

Sealing them inside our hearts

Hagar left us suddenly

Logan shifted gears

He went from “runt” to “Top Dog”

Beared with us and our tears

Time flew by too quickly

And here we were again

Struggling with how to

Let go of a friend

It was hard for me to make the choice

Knowing what I know

That “Yogi’s” mind was still so sharp

But his body had grown old

I know I did the right thing

When the time was at hand

I led him to the room

Where I gave the “last command”

We were blessed to have him

As companion and best friend

But now it’s time for Hagar

To have his brother back again

And though my heart is aching

What lightens it a smidge

Is the picture in my mind

Of them waiting at the “Bridge”
